September 1919 | Gentaro Okajima individually founded the Gentaro Okajima Trading Company, which mainly handled paints and Japanese chemicals. |

October 1923 | The organization was changed into the Okajima Trading Company Limited Partnership. A pencil factory was established in Shizuoka. During this time, the company carried dyes as well as carbon black, glue, borax, ultramarine, and other products from the British company Brunner Mond. |
January 1947 | Shogo Okajima, the incorporator, became the representative. |
January 1953 | The company was incorporated as Okajima Trading Company Co., Ltd. with capital of 1.5 million yen. |
September 1963 | The name was changed to "OKAJIMA & CO.,LTD." |
December 1968 | The capital was increased to 10 million yen. |
October 1978 | OKAJIMA started expanding into the information equipment and light electrical markets. |
November 1989 | The capital was increased to 15 million yen. |
December 1990 | Director Miyozo Okajima became the representative. |
October 1991 | OKAJIMA enhanced its liquid crystal and IT businesses. |
June 2002 | Director Akiko Okajima became the representative. |
October 2002 | OKAJIMA enhanced its device-related components. |
August 2007 | OKAJIMA acquired ISO 14001:2004 and JIS Q 14001:2004 certification from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). |

Certification was updated to ISO 14001:2015 and JIS Q 14001:2015. |
September 2017 | The capital was increased to 64.5 million yen. |
